Kinsale 12
Old Christian's 27
We played our final away game in Phase 2 of the Pan Munster Cup in Kinsale on Sunday.
The hosts were looking to revenge the result of the reverse fixture and started strongly, with the help of the elements, going in for a try in the first 5 mins.
But after the whirlwind start from them,we settled down, kept it tight, started to dominate and played the conditions much better than they did.
We quickly got the 5 back from Oisin and continued great carries and strong tackling kept them under the kosh with a penalty, the second try and conversion all by Sammy to put the score out to 5-15
But a blocked kick through in the wrong place of the field when we should have been tidying up messy ball let them in for the full 7 to make the half time score 12-15.
Now with the elements slightly in our favour the dominance we had in the 1st½ continued and some great moves, despite the weather, saw Mark finally get his try on the scoreboard after he had a perfectly good one not given.
They came back at us but great displined defending inside our own 5m line kept them scoreless
Hugo finished of the try scoring with a great finish in the corner in spite of the high tackle with Sammy knocking over the conversion to leave the score 12-27 at the final whistle.
Last game in this phase is at home to Cobh,in a top of the table clash, next Saturday 3rd Feb KO @12 noon
