Just a quick update following our recent friendly against Ballincollig RFC, which saw the first appearances at adult level for four members of our treble-winning U18.5 squad.

 

A special congratulations to Oscar O'Connor, Eoghan Murnane, Darragh Ó Donnabháin  and Will Maxwell, all of whom have progressed through the club from U6 minis right through to the adult ranks. Their journey is a fantastic reflection of the commitment and dedication shown by both the players and their families over many years.

 

Oscar produced a very accomplished performance on debut and was unlucky not to mark the occasion with a try. His bravery and intelligence in defence were standout features of an impressive display.

 

Eoghan entered the game midway through the match and settled immediately into the front row, competing strongly against an experienced Ballincollig opponent. Along with some excellent support play, Eoghan also won a crucial turnover penalty.

 

Darragh and Will were introduced for the final 20 minutes and both made valuable contributions. Darragh's lineout throwing was excellent, while Will's work at the breakdown and ruck clear-outs helped round off a strong team performance.

 

Also worth mentioning are Conor Docherty and Oisin Purdy, who were unavailable due to other commitments and holidays. Both have already impressed during pre-season training with the adult squads, and hopefully they will be available for the next outing.

 

It is great to see so many young players successfully making the transition to adult rugby and continuing their journey with the club.
