So our luck with the weather seems to have come to an end this evening in Rathcooney, ironically happening in June too! The pitches got a good watering from the heavy rain but thankfully it did not put too many of the players off attending the fifth session of the Canterbury Give It A Try series.

This evenings session revised the catch pass skills and the tackle skills, picked up from the previous sessions, and introduced the players to concept of 'The Ruck'.

The players were shown how to protect the ball by forming a ruck over the tackled player on the ground.

Safe to say they got the idea and were eager to show the coaches what was learned by taking over the tackle bags to show the skills acquired.

As usual we finished up with a small game at the end, and thankfully the weather changed for the better too.

They really are an amazing group of players, who are showing incredible skills whilst making new friends, staying active and having fun.
