The J1s began their competitive season at home to holders Muskerry in the County Cup on Sunday.

On a perfect day for rugby, we started brightly with John Marnell converting a penalty after five minutes. We dominated the rest of the half, with tries coming from Conor Dolan and Ryan O Connell both converted by Johnny.

The lads showed their metal in the second half being down to thirteen players at one stage, to run in two further tries from Laz. Both converted by Johnny, who also kicked another penalty. Muskerry scored two converted tries late on.

Great start to knock out the holders so convincingly and special mention to Conor Drummey, Ryan Murphy and Daniel O Brien who made their first appearance in an adult cup match.
