The J1s just came up short in their County Cup semi final against Clonakilty at home on Sunday,losing 28, 31.

Clon scored a try after three minutes but we recovered quickly with a penalty from Laz and a try from Oscar, converted by Laz. Clon scored three penalties before half time and Liam Carty touched down for a try to leave the score 16 all at half time.

We started the second half brightly and two penalties from Conor Dolan left the score 21-16 after ten minutes. Clon scored a converted try to draw level again. Ryan O Connell scored a fine try,converted by Conor to give us a seven point lead going into the closing stages.

Unfortunately the away team scored a converted try and penalty to leave the final score 28-31 to Clon.

Next up,Crosshaven away next Sunday in the first league match.
