The J1s began their league campaign away to Crosshaven on Sunday. Cian Smith scored an early try ,converted by Conor Dolan. The home team responded with a converted try and a penalty to leave the score 7-11 at half time.

Another penalty by Conor Dolan and a try by Matthew O Connell early in the second half gave us a four point lead.

Our injury woes continued this week with Laz ,Cian Smith and Ryan Butt having to come off and this allowed Crosshaven more into the game, scoring two converted tries, to lead 25,15. A penalty with five minutes to go from Conor Dolan gave us a losing bonus point.

Thurles at home next Sunday at 2.30.
