The weekend saw a mix of fixtures and training events for the Rhinos. All fixtures were away with the U11's and U12's making the journey to Ballincollig RFC.
Again we had the best weather of the weekend for sessions held in Rathcooney with parents and players headed to the Clubhouse Cafe afterwards for some we earned refreshments.
Here's the roundup from the groups:
- Minis Girls
We had a great turn out on the Astro Tuesday night, thankfully the weather was not as damp as previous sessions. The girls played end ball, focused in on tackle technique and finished up with a game. We are going in the right direction for fixtures to start up.

- Under 6's and Under 7's
Lovely sunny morning for the U7 Rhinos, after a quick warm up we played Red Light/Green Light, Rats and Rabbits, Bulldog, 1 v 1 and a small match to finish. A positive rugby experience with plenty of fun and games. 🏉😀

- Under 8s
The U’8’s team are starting to work together and getting to know each others names which is nice to see. They worked on catch pass skills, tackle tech and lots of mini matches that helped them develop space and work on the tackle ..

- Under 9s
U9’s did work on the breakdown this weekend and space awareness, we finished the session with a match where the kids implemented all their skills, they're looking forward to their first game of the season away to highfield next Saturday morning.

- Under 10s
U10s did further work on the ruck this weekend. Majority of the session was spent in game time where they showed us what they have learned over the last few weeks. They have their first fixture next weekend.

- Under 11s
U11s v Ballincollig- the players put on a great display of rugby in their first match of the season. Finished off with cakes afterwards in the clubhouse.

- Under 12s
U12’s today away to Ballincollig. We had 15 players, they played four 10 minutes matches against a huge Ballincollig squad. Our boys and girls should be very proud of themselves cause they were outstanding throughout. Lovely flowing rugby 👍
