This weekend things were that little bit quieter from a Rhinos perspective in Rathcooney. The U6's, U7s and U8s held the fort with whilst all other Rhino groups were away.
Highfield hosted our U9's and U10's and Crosshaven hosted the U11's and U12's.
Here's the roundup from the groups.
- Under 6's and Under 7's
U6s and 7s had another great session in Rathcooney this morning. We started off with a warm up and played green light, red light. Moved onto a game of Rats and Rabbits afterwards, followed by a game of Bulldog. Finished up with some 1 v 1 attacking and defensive work and a game at the end. The progression these players are making each week is clearly evident and the sessions are very enjoyable for all. Good consistent numbers each week is also great to see π§πͺπ§πͺπ§πͺ
- Under 9's
The U9s traveled to Highfield for their first game of the season. This team really clicked today implementing everything they have been taught over the last 6 weeks. We had 2 teams on the day with each team playing 3 highly entertaining games where the kids worked hard and supported each other all morning long. Well done to all players today.
- Under 10's
Under 10's played their first fixture of the season away against Highfield RFC. We played two games where initially Highfield had the upper hand. The players identified where they felt things were going wrong and they started implementing what they were coached on over the last few weeks which saw some lovely rugby being played and the game levelling up. Big thanks to Highfield for hosting us.
- Under 11's
U11s v Crosshaven, lovely morning and a great display of rugby by the players.
- Under 12's
U12βs at Crosshaven today. Fantastic attendance from our team, 20 players all played very good and excellent teamwork. Lovely rugby from both teams, really enjoyable to watch.
