Before the Junior League game on Sunday, the revamped picture wall was revealed and members from as far back as the sixties gather to celebrate, to remaniss and of course to tell a few lies.
Barry Hill organised the gathering and Claire's Crew did the rest.
The clubhouse really was a credit to all concerned and some of the older members, (who played when we has one and a half dressing rooms), were amazed at the developments in Rathcooney.
Looking great before the event.
Sean O'Mahony, Pa Cashman,President Claire O'Brien and Barry Hill in front of some of the refurbised picture wall.
Barry Hill speakes, as Eamon O'Leary in red top, loses interest.
President Claire speaks and Eamon is now all ears.
The woman who started it all, bridei O'Connell, is presented with a bouquet of flowers by Past President Emily.
A view of some of the guests.
The grub was very good.
More guests here, Johnny " Fang" Murphy, former club captain and vocalist with Stoker's Lodge and The Stargazers still looks like he could still fall into the front row.
The "House Committee", who are the engine room of the Clubhouse. Take a bow ladies.
The rare old times.
Ray Coughlan spoke so well about club ambition etc. When I joined the club in the 72/73 season, (I was four), Ray was already the main man to me.
The late, great Paddy Mac was the heart of the Club and Ray was the brain.
A presentation was made to Pa Cashman, without whose efforts, there would be no club. Pa was a founder member, player, captain, president and trustee.
I think he also washed the jersies.
Venturing outside for the game, Paddy Boss decided we should revive the "Pictures from the sidelines", that we used to have at the Junior games. This is the best I could do Paddy, everyone seems so well behavied these days.
Mattie is still self isolating.
Two "former greats", (in their own minds), chat in front row language.
Thank God somethings never change,
"Former Great", Alan O'Connell, with his dad and Mossie.
You'll never replace Barry Daly as a touch judge, Twiggsy, you are way too honest.
