U16 away to Crosshaven Plate Round 1

We travelled to Crosshaven in one of the few games to go ahead on Saturday. We started brightly and were awarded with an offside penalty under the posts which Sean slotted over. In what was a competitive first half both teams battled hard. Crosshaven scored a converted try on the 15 min mark only for our lads to respond brilliantly with a well deserved team try 2 min later when Evyn went over out wide, Sean getting the conversion. We conceded again just before half time making it 12-10 at the interval. The second half saw both sides go at it again and we put another 5 points on the scoreboard when Rhys barrelled over. Crosshaven responded with another try making it 15-17 and it stayed that way until 15 mins to go. Missing 4 of our regular starters the fatigue of the physical encounter started to show and we were blitzed in the final quarter conceding 3 trys before full time. The result was cruel, they lads put up a great fight, played decent rugby at times but against an older and bigger pack it was always going to be a challenge

Man of the match- Sean O Regan, proved to a constant thorn in the side for Crosshaven, tackled well, moved the ball and carried well
