Old christians 33 - 15 charleville

We asked the boys to front up today and they did, they went on the attack from the off and a brilliant passage of play saw us up by 7 points after Liam Kelleher went over out wide, jack converting well. A carbon copy move had us 14 up immediately after the reset, with Liam again the try scorer and Ryan kicking. The attack was relentless, but more impressively was the fight whenever Charleville had the ball, the amount of turnovers won was well in double digits in the first half. Eoghan Murnane added our third after a pick and drive saw him touch down by the posts. Our defence was on form, line speed was excellent, Justin killing any wide ball with some fine tackling. Plenty still to improve on, we spurned a few chances right on the 5 when we should have slowed the ball down and another which we knocked on right on the line. Our lineout miss-fired today but to be fair Charleville had some excellent jumpers to make it difficult. We went in at half time on the back of another great passage of play which ended with Oscar scoring out wide making it 26-0 at half time. We started the second half with our tails still up, Charleville giving it everything to push up the pitch, we keep applying the pressure and scored the decisive score when Riain intercepted and ran under the posts, jack again converting. 33 - 0 the game is officially over as a contest allowing us to bring on the younger squad players. Charelville started to fight back and finished with 3 unconverted trys. Scorers always seem to get the headlines, but the win was down to how the whole team played, the second row pairing of Ryan Kavaghan and Ryan Murphy were excellent so too the back 3 of Rhys, Liam and Darragh Coade. Jack at 9 and Ciaran at 10 controlled the game with excellent distribution of the ball out wide. The back line was excellent, defended well all game and attacked with intensity.

Man of the match, plenty of contenders out there, but it goes to Eoghan Murnane, fronted up today and showed great fight, plenty of tackles, nice turnover and a superb try, well done Eoghan
