Our 18½ collected their first piece of silverware,as a panel, on Sunday in Musgrave Park

Having played Skibbereen already this season, we knew we would have a tough battle to win this and that was the case.

We started slowly and were kept inside our own 22 for much of the opening 10 mins.

Good defending and great line out steals from Craig kept them scoreless and gradually settled down worked our way up the pitch resulting with s penalty from Ben opening the scoring.

Some handling errors and missed tackles resulted in them scoring under the sticks

Our lads weren't playing as well as they could but that try focused their minds and within in a couple of mins,a line out maul was illegally brought down and a penalty try was awarded. Another penalty from Ben left the half time score 13-7

Into the changing room at half time and a few words of encouragement saw the lads start the second half well with Oisin touching down after a break from close in,to make up for the try he got to but wasnt given 20-7

A handling error from the restart and following a period of pressure, saw them score in the corner 20-12.

Then came the 2 best scores of the match a try from Sean in the corner with a great finish and the conversion from Ben from the touchline put the score out 27-12.

But as before errors gave them a small bit of hope by scoring again in the corner 27-17, but this time we defended well and saw out the match.

The lads deserved this win for all the hard work they have put in during the season and hopefully we can keep this going for our development cup semi final in a couple of weeks time.
