Old Christian’s RFC 25- 17 Clanwilliam
in perfect conditions for rugby 🏉 out J1’S hosted last years Finalist in the first round of the Munster Junior Challenge Cup .
Clanwilliam started the stronger team with a few early converted penalties , but we settled in to game and found our rythm to see Ryan Butt go over for a try in the corner and a penalty from conor before half Time seen the score line 8-12 to Clanwilliam at half Time
Old Christian’s came out after half time fighting and were rewarded with a fine team try scored by Liam Carthy and converted by Conor , Old Christians Pack fought hard all day drawimg Clanwilliam into the Ruck allowing our back line some space in which Ivan Tripp marshalled well and was rewarded with a fine try half way true the second half also converted by Conor ,
the visitors got in for a try against the run of play with 15 minutes to go , but Old Christian’s defence held strong for the last 15 min and were rewarded with a number of penalties one which was within kicking distance and was slotted home by Conor to leave the final score 25-17 to Old Christians
we await the winners of St Mary’s & Muskerry in the next round of the cup
